top 5 best internet browser

web browser:

A web browser  is a software application for retrieving, presenting and traversing information resources on the World Wide Web. An information resource is identified by a Uniform Resource Identifier (URL) and may be a web page, image, video or other piece of content. Hyperlinks present in resources enable users easily to navigate their browsers to related resources. Although browsers are primarily intended to use the World Wide Web, they can also be used to access information provided by web servers in private networks or files in file systems. The major web browsers are Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, and Safari.

1:Google Chrome:

Google Chrome is a freeware web browser developed by Google. It used the WebKit layout engine until version 27 and, with the exception of its iOS releases, from version 28 and beyond uses the WebKit fork Blink. It was first released as a beta version for Microsoft Windows on September 2, 2008, and as a stable public release on December 11, 2008. Net Applications has indicated that Chrome is the third-most popular web browser when it comes to the size of its user base, behind Internet Explorer and Firefox. StatCounter, however, estimates that Google Chrome has a 39% worldwide usage share of web browsers making it the most widely used web browser in the world.

Mozilla Firefox is a free and open source web browser developed for Windows, OS X and Linux, with a mobile version for Android, by Mozilla Foundation and its subsidiary, the Mozilla Corporation. Firefox uses the Gecko layout engine to render web pages, which implements current and anticipated web standards. As of July 2013, Firefox has approximately 16% to 21% of worldwide usage share of web browsers, making it the third most used web browser, according to different sources. According to Mozilla, Firefox counts over 450 million users around the world. The browser has had particular success in Indonesia, Germany, and Poland, where it is the most popular browser with 57%, 45%, and 44% of the market share, respectively

Until version 4 it used the Java ME platform, requiring the mobile device to run Java ME applications. From version 5 it is also available as a native application for Android, bada, iOS, Symbian OS, and Windows Mobile. Opera Mini is offered free of charge, supported mainly through deals with mobile operators to have Opera Mini pre-installed in phones, and other sources of revenue such as search advertising deals, licensing and paid bookmarks and Speed Dial placement. Opera Mini was derived from the Opera web browser for personal computers, which has been publicly available since 1996. Opera Mini began as a pilot project in 2005. After limited releases in Europe, it was officially launched worldwide on January 24, 2006.

coggles . A Simple Mind-Mapping Tool

coggles . A Simple Mind-Mapping Tool

Coggle is a freeware mind-mapping web application. Like other mind-mapping software, Coggle produces hierarchically structured documents, like a branching tree. This contrasts with conventional collaborative editors, like Google Docs, which provide either linear (text document), or tabular (spreadsheet) document formats. Its authors promise that it will be "free forever"
Coggle supports export to PNG image and vector PDF formats, and import from plain-text outlines, but there is no known support for importing or exporting to the common FreeMind file format.
Coggle was voted amongst the top-5 mind-mapping applications by the readers of Lifehacker in April 2013, three months after the website was first registered.
Coggle has had a strong reception amongst the education community, praised for its simplicity and ease of use compared to other mind-mapping software.PC World has criticized the visually simple user-interface for hiding too many elements, making advanced feature discovery difficult.

Apps in Education:"iPad Poster for Primary School"

Apps in Education:"iPad Poster for Primary School"

It has become increasing clear that many primary or elementary schools are moving into the touch and swipe environment in a big way. This is sometimes part of a system wide decision but many times this decision has been made at the local level in consultation with the parents. In order for this move to be successful we need to ensure that the students have their learning scaffolded in much the same way that we have always done. Introducing iPads into the classroom is not an alternative to good teaching but rather it is another tool that good teachers use. This poster is one that might be used at the very beginning of a iPad program to help the students in their first few days with their devices.

Recordium: A Powerful Audio-Recording iOS App

Recordium: A Powerful Audio-Recording iOS App

Recordium is a new iPad and iPhone for creating audio recordings. At first glance the app reminded me Sound Cloud. Like Sound Cloud, Recordium can be used to quickly create a spoken note or to record someone playing an instrument. Recordium can be used to trim the end or beginning of a recording. You can also snip out a middle portion of a recording and save it as a separate recording or trash it. Where Recordium gets interesting is in the annotation features. The app allows you to highlight and tag portions of your recordings. Your tags can even include pictures. Completed recordings can be shared to a number of services including Google Drive and Evernote. The Recordium highlighting and tagging tools could be very useful in adding context and meaning to a recording. For example, if I a student was recording a part of a lecture he or she could go back and add a diagram of what the lecturer was talking about. Or if you’re using the service to record reminders for yourself, you can use the note feature to write down when you’ve accomplished the things in your audio reminder.
